2022 Opening Day

Please join us Saturday, April 30th for the 2022 Opening Day... our 69th one! Our celebration will be from 9:30-NOON in the Amicus Parking Lot off 13th Street, across from Mansfield Stadium.

Opening Day is open to the whole city, and your support helps us raise funds for scholarships, field maintenance and new equipment!

Opening Day History

Bangor West Little League has a long history of celebrating its Opening Day....nearly 7 decades!

The day begins with a parade at 8:30 a.m. from Fairmount Park to Mansfield Stadium, where we have our First Pitch Ceremony. Each year, someone who has made an impact on the league is asked to throw out the ceremonial pitches for baseball and softball. A senior from Bangor High School usually sings our National Anthem, and local dignitaries are invited to speak.

After the ceremony, we have a celebration across the street, near our fields. We celebrate with:

Mascots from UMaine, BHS, Chick-fil-A
and More!

Our Opening Day is open to the whole city and serves as a fundraiser to help support our scholarships, fields and equipment.
