Fall Ball - Baseball & Softball

BASEBALL

Bangor residents - Please indicate your player's interest in participating in Fall Baseball by completing this form: https://forms.gle/pkcSU1j4n16zbxvh9. Our team will compete in the Bronco Fall Baseball league. All games hosted at the Hampden Little League fields as Doubleheaders each Saturday from 8/27 to 10/1 (expect one practice/week on a week night TBD).

Ages 9 to 11 as of Aug 31 (exceptions may be made for 8 year olds who have previous in-game experience). This is a developmental league so tryouts are NOT required, but filling out this form does not guarantee placement on team as spaces are limited, and priority will be given to previous Bangor West and Bangor East Little League participants. Expected cost of $50/player to be collected once a roster spot is made available and if enough players show interest.

SOFTBALL - MINORS

Prior to the end of the softball season, we had an invitation to play in the fall softball league made up of several of the Little League groups around the area. It has been many years since Bangor participated in the fall league and everyone I have talked to that has done it before has said what a great time it is and how much everyone improves over the fall season. The plans have been a work in progress all summer with figuring out who was going to host, schedules, etc. We finally got the formal invite the other day and I am reaching out to see who would be interested in playing with us this fall.

The official email I got had this to say:
Games will be starting on Saturday September 10 and run until October 16th. Costume contest will happen on the weekend of the Oct 15th/16th and prize awarded. We will have games on Saturdays at 4pm and Sundays at 1pm/4pm depending on the number of teams that sign up. Rain days are Friday nights. You’ll play 1-2 games every weekend. Ends in single elimination tournament on last weekend. We will play by Regular season LL rules. All players must have played spring season little league minors softball to be eligible to play fall ball.

The games will be played at the Union St. Softball complex in Bangor, which will be rearranged to meet Little League requirements and distances. In addition to the games, we will likely have one evening practice a week at our field on 13th St. I know this can be a busy time of year for some people so we certainly understand if there are days that have to be missed but this is a great opportunity to keep improving from the spring season and learn some things that will help next year.

I need to get a count of who wants to play by Wednesday this week so I can let them know how many teams we will have playing. I do not have a final cost yet but it will be under $40. If anyone wants to play but cost is a problem, please let me know and we will work that out.

I am hoping to see everyone back with us. I guarantee this will be a great opportunity and a lot of fun for everyone who participates.
